If you had a YouTube Channel - what would it be?

A little while ago, Bryn was explaining the details for a fabric decision to an intern and he suggested that she start a YouTube channel.  We had a good chuckle in the moment and ever since, we've tossed around YouTube channel ideas for all the passions our team has extending through and beyond design.  We joke about finding each of our niches - all different and fun spirited in our own ways. So, today we share how we would each answer the question - “If you had a YouTube channel, what would it be and why?”

RACHEL

Always on the lookout for a vessel she can make into a candle, Rachel’s first channel would be all about candle making - “Wax & Wick”.  She finds these great vintage bowls, cups or vases and brings them into the studio as a candle holder after working her magic.

The sweetest little blue speckled pot that Rachel uses for candles.  She just refills it with another candle to enjoy again and again.

Next, she would need a cooking from scraps channel - “An Ingredients House”. No food is wasted in the Alcorn home - she can turn any lingering veggies or left overs into a delicious meal.

Lastly, a reach goal - to have a channel all about making dresses out of vintage tablecloths. If you haven’t seen this on Instagram - check out @POPPYLUCLOTHING. It is really remarkable. Here is someone who already had it figured out, AT HOME WITH ASHLEY.

BRYN

As a dog mama to Hank and Gus, Bryn is well versed in the practicality needed to accommodated furry family members.  Her channel, “Decorating for and with Dogs” would share all her tips and tricks - from performance fabrics to wool rugs.

And, we can’t forget our intern’s suggestion, Bryn’s second channel would be all about fabric - “101 Fun Facts of Fabric”.  She would share how to select different fabrics for different applications, how to care for them, and how to keep whites oh, so white.

KAREN

As our resident plant guru, Karen would share all the wisdom that she has gained along the way to earn her green thumb.  Like a black belt, her green thumb came with many lessons and she would share them on her channel - “Rooting for Plants: How to Style your home with plants and keep them alive.”

HEATHER

From resale shops to estate sales - even the curb, Heather’s heart has a soft spot for old furniture.  She’s the one who will pick up a piece and bring it home just knowing that she can find a way to freshen it up and give it new life.  Her channel, “This Old Furniture” would show you what to look for, where to look and all the fun ways a piece can be restored.

KIM

In Kim’s mind, the best days start with a run - especially at sunrise and especially while traveling.  From finding a route and packing the right layers to soaking in the sites or participating in a race - she would share all the gems she’s found running along the way on her channel, “But First, We Run.”
