We first gave a teaser about this space last fall, after our clients approached us for some help making their seldom-used dining room into a cozy cocktail lounge. The ask got even more interesting with their request for a cocktail lounge that could morph back into a dining room as needed. We faced this question head on — how do we use our dining room more than 5 days out of the year, but still have the option to entertain around a large table? For a refresher, check out this journal post: DINING ROOMS - FOR OCCASIONAL ENTERTAINING OR EVERYDAY USE? A GUIDE TO CREATING A FLEXIBLE SPACE FOR BOTH.
We now have the pictures to show the transformation - it took just two of about 10 minutes to go from lounge to dining room and we’re now all wishing for this type of multi-functional spaces in our homes. Check out this sequence to see how we shuffled around the furniture to go from a lounge to a dining room:
And, here is a full tour of this new take on a flexible dining room:
While this transformation is lovely, what we’re probably wishing for is that amazing bourbon collection. Check out the beautiful book in praise of the spirit that our clients wrote HERE, pour yourself a glass and enjoy.
