REIMAGINED HINSDALE LIVING ROOM

Project

Our client came to us for help in transforming her often forgotten living room into a place where family and friends would enjoy gathering. This large space with a fireplace (valuable real estate!) was to be a place to enjoy cozy seating by the fireplace, to relax and read, to gather around a games table or offer a destination for cocktail nights. The living room came to life with a mix of a custom banquette, custom rug and custom drapery, vintage finds reimagined with paint and upholstery and repurposing some existing pieces.

Inspiration

Following the space plan, we presented the client with two different palettes and design boards - one was dramatic and moody with chocolate browns and pops of teal and orange.  The other option was light, airy and neutral, relying on texture and tonal patterns for interest.  Ultimately the client's love for clean and quiet colors won out so we set about making sure the neutral space would still feel special, inviting and luxurious.

Client

As a well traveled family of four in Hinsdale, they often host friends and family of all ages. Also, a lover of all things vintage, we spent a fun day shopping our favorite haunts to find unique pieces for the room. Naturally drawn to a light and airy aesthetic with transitional sophistication, they were seeking an elegant, yet welcoming space.
